Bugha Swatted, Still Wins

On 11 August, 2019, Fortnite World Cup Winner, Bugha, was streaming on Twitch when SWAT showed up at his home. SWAT showed up near the end of the match, Bugha stopped playing long enough to take care of the situation, then returned to the game – his team won.

When Bugha returned from talking to the police, he explained that they had come in with guns. One of the officers live in Bugha’s neighborhood, recognized him, and the situation was defused – Kyle stated in the stream.

Swatting is a dangerous prank that involves someone calling the police, giving them false information about a violent/urgent crime, in the hopes that a SWAT (or other response) team will be sent to the target’s home.

Authorities come down hard on this type of activity because it can have deadly consequences. A man was killed in 2017 after being swatted, and the man who committed the prank is serving 20 years in prison.
